Chimney Sweeps

It wasn’t until 2004 that Boston Brick & Stone began sweeping chimneys.

After constructing and building thousands of chimneys in Los Angeles County the demand from our customers to sweep the chimneys we had worked on grew too great to ignore. We trained a masonry crew and invested in the proper equipment and began to sweep chimneys. The demand grew and soon friends were telling friends about our professional service and technical expertise.

Before the sweep is begun, the fireplace opening is tightly cover with heavy plastic.  We cover any furniture near by as well.  Though every effort is made to protect your home, we cannot guarantee a completely grime free cleaning.  If you are considering painting walls, or replacing carpet and drapes, it would be wise to have the chimney cleaned before hand.

Once the fireplace is covered we go to the roof and sweep the chimney.  Yes our Sweeps use the brushes you saw in Mary Pippins, but they do not dance and sing.  After a thorough initial sweep the team stops for a several minutes to let everything settle and then sweep a second time. Again they let everything settle and come down to the fireplace, carefully pull away the plastic and vacuum out the debris.  The last part of the sweep is brushing out the fire area and then vacuuming a second time.  Once that is complete the Chimney Inspector does a complete inspection.  You can get a complete description at “Chimneys / Fireplaces”
